5.0 Understanding GIANT Output
The final step in a typical pass through the triangulation process, as described in Section 1.1, is the analysis of the output in order to assess the quality of the bundle adjustment. The results of GIANT's computational work are all directed to ASCII output files. An ASCII interface offers the user the flexibility of importing the output file(s) into a text editor or word processor to reformat the output into a company-compliant or client-specified presentation. Owing to the large number of output-related options and switches, GIANT can produce a variety of output files with varying information. The user is encouraged to refer to Section 3.5 to review the output-related options and switches, and their effects. This chapter will discuss the contents of the various GIANT output files, concentrating, in particular, on the listing output file.
